I’ve got about 3 to 4 hours per night that I can dedicate to making money on my computer. What is the best way to make money online in a short period of time?

A short period of time? I don’t know, I really steer clear of those get-rich schemes.
What are you really interested? What area do you do well in? You should find where your interests lie and then try and develop a product around it.
For example, I’ve always been fascinated with the mind and how it works, so I became a hypnotist. I launched a website (http://www.HypnoticSubliminals.com) that sells Hypnosis CD’s, downloads and scripts.
I’ve also been studying online marketing, so I can better reach my potential customers. My website hasn’t fully developed yet, and most of my prodcuts won’t be uploaded until about January of 2009. However I have already sold about six items, and it’s only been one month.
So, find something that you really like and study it. Brainstorm good ideas on how you can develop a product or products around this area of interest. Launch a website, study about online marketing and targeting, and start making money.
My friend launches affiliates all over the world, and he might be able to help you. Although I think the best thing to do would be to follow my advice below, or tweak it to suit your tastes.

P.S. You could also become affiliates with different companies, launch a website and sell other people’s products. Remember to study on how to launch a successful affiliate ‘career’. The more you know, the more you succeed.
What do you mean by “a short period of time”?
The sites that work best for me are GPT sites. They work well because you can work whenever you have time, without waiting for invites or assignments like you might have to for paid posting or surveys. The guy before me is right, selling things on ebay is a great way to make money, however if you don’t want to give away things then this is a great option that I have been using for almost a week.

This is a website where you write an article about anything you like (e.g. football) and they publish it on their site. For every persnj that views it then you get some money. Only about a penny every 3 views but it adds up quickly.
Since you may think this is a scam, look up triond on the internet before joining and you can see proof of payments from other members or just see how many people like it.
You will get paid every month either by check or paypal and it’s great.
The guy that posted first is more than likely a scam. Be very weary of all the get rich quick schemes and the online money making routines. They are all, from what I have seen, nothing but a scam.
The best way to make money is sell stuff online. Use ebay and sites like craigslist. Start with all the junk in your house and sell it on craigslist. I did that and made 100 in one week. Just by selling stupid stuff like a dog crate, dog taxi, old power drill, WOW game, and a fondue set. you would be surprised at what people will actually by. The best part about craigslist is you are dealing with people in your city who would wither be willing to meet you somewhere or come to your house to get the item. After you have gotten rid of all your old crap try going to flea markets or garage sales and buy stuff for super cheap and turn around and resale it on the sites for twice as much, if not more.

There’s many ways. You can get paid for blogging, for teaching something your very good at, online surveys, but they don’t fast enough, ebay. I would go with ebay unless you enjoy writing and your good at it, but you could start a website and puts lots of payperclick advertisements on it. The thing is, it was a prepaid credit card so anyone was approved. Try starting your own site and allowing people to place ads on it, it works wonders.

I love to write about ways to make money online but I also equally enjoy exposing scam companies. in my opinion a scam company is any website or business that offers one thing then leaves you with a different end result. This can be achieved my them not telling you *all* the details or being totally misleading as a whole.
